Lydia’s energetic rock-and-roll style has been recognized by the biggest names in music. Ansel has performed with stars such as Rod Stewart, Enrique Iglesias, John Legend, Steve Walsh (Kansas), Robin Zander (Cheap Trick), Jordin Sparks, and Ricky Martin. She has been prominently featured on stages throughout the city, having played at every resort on the world famous Las Vegas Strip. Long running feature performances include hundreds of shows with Las Vegas favorites Zowie Bowie, Bella Strings, and Rod Stewart.
Lydia is a classically trained violinist with a degree in violin performance from the prestigious music program at the University of North Texas. After graduating early, she accepted a full-ride scholarship for her master’s degree in Violin Performance at Arizona State University.
Ansel’s unique musical style has developed through her love of rock and roll’s best guitarists. Players like; Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Angus Young, Slash, and Eddie Van Halen have influenced her sound.
Recently, Lydia has turned her talent and attention to the music of DJ’s like Tiesto, David Guetta, Zedd, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Diplo, and Skrillex. Her love of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and creative spirit caused her to become a talented DJ, opening the opportunity for her to meld her unique electric violin style to Electronic Dance beats. The sound style she has created is enhanced by her expert use of effects pedals (traditionally reserved for electric guitar).
Lydia’s solo career is in full swing. Her current show combines live DJ, electric violin performance, and dance. Each performance is absolutely new. She is able to adapt her show to her environment, and the crowd. Her shows are a high-energy organic evolution, which changes every single night. Her audience and their energy guide the performance.
